India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. today signed a MoU with J R Polytechnic College, a prominent institute situated at Trichy, Tamil Nadu to establish a Yamaha Training School in its premises. This initiative is to promote and encourage relatively indigent youngsters to acquire technical knowledge and expertise, thereby supporting them to secure employment at Yamaha dealerships. As a socially responsible company, this initiative is in line with Yamaha’s continued CSR program. Technical experts from Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) – the company’s training division will provide support in conducting the YTS program by continuously training the trainers as well as the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravinder Singh, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Planning, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd said: ‘At present, there is a huge skills gap in the industry and a large number of youngsters are pressed towards unemployment due to lack of technical skills. With this MoU, Yamaha will develop synergetic partnership with J R Polytechnic College, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, thereby helping deserving students find employment in the automobile sector via impartment of technical training and education. This partnership will provide a platform to relatively indigent youngsters to obtain a job oriented technical training in two wheeler repair and servicing that meets industry standards. Upon successful completion of this YTS course, students will receive a Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) certificate and a certificate issued by the partner Institute that will help them gain suitable employment within the industry.’
