Toyota Sales India in January 2013

Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 13,329 units of its vehicles in Jan 2013, down by 23 per cent when compared to january 2012

  • Jan 2013 sales is increased by 10.42 per cent compared to December 2012 where it sold 12,071 units.
  • Jan 2013 sales is decreased by 23 per cent when compared to January 2012 where it sold 17,395 units.
  • No of units exported to South Africa [ Etios ] – 1,791 units
  • Total sales including exports for the month of January 2013 – 15,120 units

Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Marketing and Commercial, Sandeep Singh said

“The market is still witnessing a slowdown, especially the passenger car segment. The prospects for the second half of 2013 look better. The repo rate cut is a welcome step. With the budget round the corner we are looking for some more measures that will bring about positive growth”

Toyota U.S.A Sales in Jan 2013

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., sold 157,725 units of its vehicles in January 2013, an increase of 21.6 percent on a daily selling rate basis [DSR].

  • Lexus Division sold 16,211 units of its vehicles in January 2013
  • Lexus Division up by 26.8 per cent on DSR basis
  • Lexus Division up by 32.1 per cent on volume basis
  • Toyota Division sold 141,514 units in January, up by 21 per cent year on year
  • Scion Division was up by 38.4 per cent
  • TMS Hybrid recorded sales of 24,232 units, up by 45.4 per cent on a DSR [Daily Selling Rate] basis
  • Total TMS truck sales – 63,852 units sold, up by 25.5 per cent
  • Prius Family recorded its best ever January sales with 15,772 units, up by 36.5 per cent
  • Camry – 31,897 units sold, up by 12.7 per cent
  • Corolla – 23,822 units sold, up by 32.4 per cent
  • Avalon, its all new 2013 model – 4,840 units sold, up by 50.4 per cent
  • RAV4 – 11,610 units sold, up by 18.2 per cent
  • Lexus RX – 5,394 units sold, up by 7.1 per cent
  • Lexus ES – 5,186 units sold, up by 115.2 per cent

Bill Fay, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A, Inc. said

“The sales pace we saw in the fourth quarter of last year rolled into January, exceeding our expectations for the industry. Toyota started the year off strong, with total sales up over 26 percent, more than double the industry average. With the 2013 Avalon and 2013 RAV4 off to a great start, our focus remains firmly on new products and taking care of our customers”

Tim Morrison, Lexus vice president of sales and dealer development said

“With a strong January we’re off to a great start in 2013.With great inventories of our recently launched models and more exciting vehicles new to come, we expect the momentum to continue.”
