HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA

Hyundai Motor America has managed to sell a record of 52,311 units of its vehicles in February 2013, which is a Two per cent increase when compared to last year
  • All new Santa Fe sales were up by 64 per cent compared to last year
  • Elantra is up 15 percent for the year
  • Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles sold 5,627 vehicles, up by nine per cent compared to 2012

John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America said

“Our biggest-ever Super Bowl and Academy Awards presence drove great interest in the Hyundai brand, especially the all-new Santa Fe. The all-new seven-passenger version of the Santa Fe will begin hitting showrooms shortly after our media introduction this month, adding to the strength of our crossover line-up”

Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president of sales said

“February was another record month for Hyundai – we had a terrific President’s Day weekend event to kick off the spring selling season, much improved inventory levels, and great access to credit available to a broader band of buyers. Our performance was led by the all-new Santa Fe and the award winning Elantra, both of which saw double-digit sales gains over 2012.”

Hyundai India

Hyundai Motor India Limited [ HMIL ], Hyundai India Division has announced that it has sold 54,665 units of its vehicles in February 2013 which is 5.4 per cent increase compared to February 2012

  • Domestic sales accounted for 34,002 units compared to 36,805 units in February 2012.
  • Exports were up from 15,050 units in February 2012 to 20,663 units in February 2013

  • A2 segment [ Eon, Santro, i10, i20 ] – 46,387 units of vehicles sold
  • A3 Segment [ Accent and Verna ] – 7,722 units sold
  • A4 Segment [ Elantra ] – 470 units sold
  • A5 segment [ Sonata ] – 20 units sold
  • SUV [ Santa Fe ] – 66 units sold

Rakesh Srivastava, Vice President, sales and marketing, Hyundai Motor India Limited said

“The market was suppressed as there was drop in enquiries with lower rates of conversions to purchase. The increase in fuel prices negatively impacted the already low market sentiments. We expect the challenge to continue in the next quarter until there is a significant change in macro-economic conditions.”
