Due to tsunami in Japan and flood in thialand in last year that is 2011, component supply of Honda was affected and because of this they lost around six months of production

But now reports are that Honda Seil Cars India are gearing up to resume normal output by the month of March 2012. Infact Honda has already started rolling about one thousand units of its mid-sized sedan City and by next month Honda is planning on reaching full production of hatchbacks Brio and this will be followed by Jazz

Jsnaneswar Sen senior vice president of the Honda also informed that they are more concerned about their waiting customers than launching new cars
Going into little more details Mr. Jsnaneswar Sen said Honda has almost 8,000 pending orders for Brio and has delivered only 2,000 Brio cars so far

Jsnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice-President Of Marketing & Sales, Honda Siel Cars India said

“In this ongoing fiscal we have lost about six months of production due to disruption in supply of components following the tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand. Now we have found alternate source from Japan and China”
By March the company’s production capability should reach the normal level
“Our Greater Noida plant has an annual capacity of 1.2 lakh units. Our expectation is that in terms of our capability to produce cars, we could reach 10,000 units a month by March -April as part supplies are getting restored but how much we produce will depend on market demand”
“As far as the market is concerned, the current response is encouraging but we need to wait and watch other macro-economic factors”
