Hero MotorCorp May 2013 Sales
Hero MotoCorp Limited (HMCL), the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer recorded its highest ever monthly sales for the month of May and May 2013 was also the highest ever retail sales for any non festival period for Hero.
Hero despatched a record 5,57,890 units of two-wheelers in May 2013 compared to 5,56,644 units vehicles in May 2012.
Hero retailed over 1.1 million two wheelers during April and May which is its highest ever retail sales for any non-festival period.
Mr. Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp, said
“The demand momentum that we had seen on our product range in April continued in May as well, helping us achieve over 1.1 million retail sales in the two-month period. This retail off-take has been helped by our star brands, our new product range as also the recently-introduced five-year warranty on our entire portfolio. Going forward, with forecast of a normal monsoon, we expect sentiments to be good, thus helping us sustain the current momentum.”
Last month Hero also made its debut in Central America by launching brand ‘Hero’ and its range of two-wheelers in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
Hero MotoCorp has appointed the reputed Indy Motos Group of Guatemala as the authorised distributor of its range of two-wheelers in these countries.
Hero MotoCorp recently launched the country’s first-ever warranty of 5 years on all its two-wheelers (5 years or 70,000 km on motorcycles, and 5 years or 50,000 km on scooters).
TVS May 2013
TVS Motor Company sold a total of 165,151 units of its vehicles in May 2013 compared to 176,012 vehicles in May 2012.
TVS sold a total of 159,346 units of its two wheelers in May 2013 compared to 173,092 two wheeler in May 2012.
In the Domestic market alone it sold 140,046 units in May 2013 compared to 151,980 units in May 2012.
66,606 units of its Motorcycles were sold in May 2013 compared to 64,134 units in May 2012.
33,747 units of its Scooters were sold in May 2013 compared to 38,833 units in last year
TVS exported 24,393 units in May 2013 compared to 22,817 units in May 2012.
19,290 units of its Two wheeler exported in May 2013 against 21,112 units in May 2012.
TVS three wheeler sales grew by a massive 99 per cent from 2,920 units in May 2012 to 5,805 units in May 2013.
